Medi 4C Flex Hyperextension Back Brace

$280.00

The Medi 4C Flex Hyperextension Back Brace is a clinically designed torso orthosis that provides reliable stabilization for the lumbar and lower thoracic spine. Engineered with a rigid, stable frame and a cantilever closing mechanism, this brace helps restrict harmful motion-especially lateral flexion-and supports recovery from compression fractures, post-operative healing, or spinal tumors.

Key Features

  • Hyperextension Support: Encourages spinal extension in the sagittal plane for optimal stabilization.

  • Stable Framework: Aluminum and PVC construction resists lateral flexion while maintaining rotational control.

  • Adjustable Fit: Side-bar length and chest bar width can be customized to each patient's torso shape.

  • Moveable Hip Bar: Improves comfort during sitting and everyday activities.

  • Button / Hook Closure: Easy-to-use cantilever mechanism for secure fastening and release.

  • Multiple Sizes: Available in S, M, L, and XL; also offered in short and ultrashort torso lengths. See Size and Fit tab.

  • Rigid but Patient-Friendly: Designed for extended wear on unbroken skin with adjustable pads for a personalized fit.

  • Use only on intact skin; avoid use on unhealed wounds unless fully covered.
  • Recommended Manufacturer HCPC: L0472

Indications / Uses

The Medi 4C FLex brace is medically indicated for:

  • Stable vertebral compression fractures in the lower thoracic and lumbar spine
  • Post-operative care following intervertebral disc surgery or vertebral surgery
  • Spinal immobilization after decompression surgery (with or without internal fixation)
  • Permanent orthotic support for spinal tumors or metastases
  • Axial stabilization in cases of osteoporotic vertebral collapse
  • Injuries requiring a Jewett brace
  • Contraindication: Not suitable for unstable fractures of the thoracic or lumbar spine, especially if neurological deficit is present.
