The Wheaton Heel Lift provides children with proper support and cushioning for treating calcaneal apophysitis (also known as Sever's Disease), a condition where the growth plate of the heel bone becomes inflamed. Playing basketball, tennis and other sports on hard surfaces can irritate the foot in that tender area by the achilles tendon and secondary growth plate by the heel. The Wheaton Heel features a resilient rubber composition that reduces discomfort with each step. The product is lined with soft suede leather for comfort inside any type of shoe. It features layers that can be peeled off to reduce it from 3/8" to 2/8" and finally 1/8" in height.
