DeRoyal Sofsorb® Wound Dressing is a highly absorbent, multi-layered one-piece dressing with five layer construction:

  • 1 – Non-adherent wound contact layer.
  • 2 – Stay-Dry Liner that permits passage of wound drainage to keep periwound skin dry and prevent maceration at wound site.
  • 3 – Center layer that absorbs wound drainage.
  • 4 – Cellulose layer that wicks drainage horizontally along pad to increase dressing absorption capacity.
  • 5 – Air-permeable backing for strength and durability.

The wound dressing is specially designed for wet types of wounds with heavy drainage. It can be used as either a primary or secondary dressing, and May be soaked with saline or topical agents prior to use.  Sofsorb is a highly absorbent, non-adherent, multi-layered one piece dressing that physicians prefer over traditional dressings because its so easy to apply and use. They are soft and pliable for comfort, but aren't too bulky to limit a patient's range of motion exercises during recovery / rehab. Suited for burns, post-operative incision sites, heavily draining skin ulcers, heavily draining pressure sores, lacerations and abrasions

Sofsorb Dressing (Standard) Features:

  • Soft and pliable to work with.
  • Five layers of protection to keep the wound from further impact or trauma.
  • Ideal for wet wounds with heavy drainage.
  • Provides protection of wounds from additional trauma.
  • Can be soaked with saline or topical agents before applying to the wound.
  • Doesn't inhibit range of motion.

Reviews
excellent for burns
We use SOFSORB in the burn ward and its a real blessing for our patients. I've seen extremely damaged skin where the patient is literally afraid to have the dressing changed. We use the Sofsorb and it helps take the agony away from the whole process. When removing it, we moisten it first and then slowly, carefully, lift it off the injured tissue.
