  • Terrible for toddlers - foot slips up boot & difficult to put on

    We got this boot under recommendation from the doctor for our 14 month crawling / early walker to help with his broken ankle. It is incredibly difficult to put on, especially with a wiggly toddler who does NOT want to sit still. His splint from the doctor's office is MUCH easier and we're just using that (with doctor's approval). There is way too much velco on this boot and FAR too many steps which does not allow for any minor adjustments at all. It is a minimum of a 7 step process to put on the boot: 1. Put on the soft inner liner (which even the Small is way too big for a 6 inch foot, despite being advertised for it), 2. Keep the plastic pieces on the tall metal sides of the boot (EVERY TIME -- you can't lose the plastic) and slide the liner into the boot. Make sure you place foot PERFECTLY before removing plastic otherwise it is a nightmare (and painful for a hurt ankle) to take the foot OUT of the boot because the velcro is so firm. 3. Remove the plastic pieces, 4. Tighten velcro at the toes (which is too far forward and does NOT actually tighten on a toddler's foot, 5. Cross the velcro straps at the ankle (which leaves too much velcro hanging off that catches on EVERYTHING), 6. Attach another velcro strap at the bottom of the ankle, 7. Attach another velcro strap at the top of the ankle. When baby crawls, the velcro pieces snag EVERYTHING, especially carpet. Also because of the rubber at the toe, a crawling child's toe drags and the force from the baby going forward and the boot snagging the floor causes their foot to slide up the boot, no matter how tight you put on the boot.The brace is also very hard metal with edges, so it is not possible to let baby sleep in it for naps or bed, and it is WAY too wide to allow for even an adult sock to be placed over it, so you have to repeat this process multiple times per day.

    Bought the bledsoe wee walker large for our son after he sprained his ankle on the playground. He wore it for his injury about 1-2 weeks without too much difficulty.

  • Helped our 2 year old's foot and ankle

    We had to take our 3 year old in to see the orthopedist 4 times in two weeks for an ankle-foot- The doctor put her in a hard cast for the first 4 days and was not allowed to place any weight on her foot which was difficult for her because she was almost always in pain and she felt miserable. She was in constant pain and misery. Then we tried having her unprotected for week and she re-injured her foot and ankle three days ago with regular walking. We just received the Wee Walker boot today and she's worn it now for most of the day. She's able to crawl around or walk with this on and doesn't experience pain. I cannot tell you how incredibly thankful we are for this device. We were also told that "nothing" for her age group and size existed in a removable splinting type of mechanism. After seeing her in misery we found this item online and were surprised that it was actually made specifically for her size.   • Great Kids Size Walker

    Hi,

    My 8 year old is still in a walking cast (he has a tib/fib break) but am hoping at today's appointment he will graduate to the walking boot - but thanks the shipping and delivery was on time and the product is as ordered. It was so hard to find a boot for my child - so glad you had this in stock for immediate delivery. Others did not have it as claimed.

  • 2yr old fracture

    Hard to get back on with all Velcro sticking to each piece - I've learned to attach the straps back to their individual velcro tabs to avoid the whole "spaghetti strap" problem. Otherwise, it's a good product. Maybea little more direction from my doctor would have been better in helping me learn how to fit and remove the boot easier. It does come with plenty of instructions though.

    My daughter sprained her ankle while on the play yard at school. The Wee Walker was easy to put on and gave her support and protection so she could go back to school. The sizing chart was accurate - it didn't run too big or too small in other words.
