The BioSkin Q Lok is a patella brace system for the evaluation and treatment of a variety of patellofemoral conditions resulting in pain and poor tracking of the kneecap. This model comes with a special diagnostic sleeve which is used to assess the potential of the patella knee brace to both improve function and reduce pain. In addition to having malleable hinge bars to conform to the shape of the leg, the patella stabilizer knee brace features a unique traction strap that imparts both an anterior and medially directed force which increases surface contact within the trochlea to improve tracking and pain with walking and running activities. The Q Lok is both lightweight and neoprene-free for exceptional performance for a variety of leg shapes. It is available in a pull-on or a front closure version. This brace requires a medical professional's evaluation/fitting and therefore cannot be shipped to a customer's residence. Available Sizes: For the best fit, keep in mind that BioSkin makes their products specifically for very fit, toned individuals that are serious athletes. The BioSkin Q Lok is also meant to fit snuggly, but if your patient is on the border of two sizes and isn't extremely toned, choose the larger of the two sizes. Measure the patient while he is standing with his foot flat on the floor. Three measurements should be taken:
Measure at 7" above mid-patella.
Measure at mid-patella.
Measure at 6" below mid-patella (the thickest part of the calf).
Then, compare those measurements to these:
S = 18-20" @ 7" above patella, 13-14" @ mid-patella, 10-12" at largest part of calf
M = 20-22" @ 7" above patella, 14-16" @ mid-patella, 12-14" at largest part of calf
L = 22-25" @ 7" above patella, 16-17" @ mid-patella, 14-16" at largest part of calf
XL = 25-28" @ 7" above patella, 17-19" @ mid-patella, 16-18" at largest part of calf
XXL = 28-32" @ 7" above patella, 19-21" @ mid-patella, 18-20" at largest part of calf

- Q Lok Diagnostic Sleeve (pictured above with the white line) is used to help assess the Q Lok's potential effectiveness. It helps to determine the proper fitting for the Q Lok, and will also evaluate the pain relief that can be achieved by increasing the impact on the surface contact area of the patella in the trochlear groove. We highly recommended getting the sleeve with your purchase.
