The Breg Compact X2K-OA Counterforce Knee Brace is designed for male patients 5?6? and under suffering from mild to moderate knee joint osteoarthritis. This Breg knee brace offers the same control and support as the regular X2K Counterforce brace only with a slightly smaller frame providing the shorter patient a more proportional and comfortable fit. This Breg arthritis knee brace, formerly known as the Tradition Counterforce, utilizes Breg's diamond shape design to provide knee stability and relief of knee pain caused by an ACL deficiency/osteoarthritis. The Compact X2K-OA arthritis knee brace design provides knee joint stability while imparting a varus or valgus force across the joint to unload the affected medial or lateral side of the knee by way of an adjustable unloading hinge (pictured below). The X2K-OA unloader knee brace offers similar features and benefits of its custom equivalent, CounterForce Plus, but in an off the shelf style.

The brace's hinge can be adjusted to control the range of motion of the knee joint to either limit full extension or limit full flexion of the knee.
• Gel condyle pads provide comfort at the knee joint.
• Siliconized strap padding at calf and thigh prevent brace migration down the leg.
• Over-sized tibial frame pad disburses stress across the lower leg to provide comfort.

The Diamond Shape of the X2K CounterForce offers excellent control for varus/valgus forces. The patented adjustable hinge system puts full control of medial/lateral applied loads into the physician or patient's hands. The bilateral hinge design keeps the knee joint stable and reduces rotation of the knee. Using a simple tool, the medial or lateral condyle pads can be adjusted to apply a valgus or varus counter-force load to relieve osteoarthritic pain. The opposing condyle pad can then be adjusted to provide optimal contact for varus/valgus stabilization of the knee.

Indications:

• Unicompartmental OA (mild to moderate) of the knee joint.
• Reduces shear forces following meniscal repairs, chondral defect procedures, and complements cartilage injections.
