Arm Sling

An arm sling is an orthopedic device designed to help immobilize an injured extremity. Usually an arm sling is used to provide additional protection for an arm injury such as a broken arm or a sprained shoulder, and comes in a variety of moisture wicking materials for enhanced breathability. And some have what is termed a shallow or a deep pocket. If a patient is prescribed an arm sling, the physician will typically decide when it can be removed. Arm slings are very helpful because they help reduce pain associated with immobilizing the injured extremity.  They are often used after shoulder surgery, or initially after breaking an arm. By wearing an arm sling, patients can effectively protect the area from further injury and help promote the healing process.
